British Healthcare Trade Association OFT & FSA Standards

The British Healthcare Trades Association has been around for quite a while – it is one of the oldest and most established trade associations you'll come across.

The BHTA has over 460 company members and they range from a small, local showroom selling items such as scooters, wheelchairs, bathlifts and stairlifts, to the largest manufacturers and suppliers in the UK.

One of our most important roles is to maintain the highest standards. There are some less than ethical companies out there but every company you'll find on this website is a member of the BHTA because it wants to look after customers properly. You won't find the rogue traders here – they just wouldn't meet our standards.

Every BHTA member company has signed up to a special Code of Practice. It's not just a piece of paper. It is approved by the Trading Standards Institute, under the Consumer Codes Approval Scheme (CCAS).
